Job Description
Job Summary:
The Project Manager - Wet Utilities will be responsible for leading teams to
manage projects from pre-construction and estimating to final completion, with a focus
on safety and ensuring jobs are completed on time, in budget and an emphasis on open
positive communication and coordination with clients to build relationships. The Project Manager will
also develop budgets, manage resources, schedules, financials, submittals, and quality
control for each project. The Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a
day-to-day basis. Company is open to hiring an Assistant Project Manager to train and
eventually promote to the PM role for applicable candidates.
Job Responsibilities:
Administrative:
- Understanding and ability to complete all tasks of a Senior Project Engineer
- Understand Subcontract Agreements
- Approve payroll
- Approve invoices
Project Support:
- Understanding and ability to complete all tasks of a Senior Project Engineer
- Coordinate Preconstruction meetings
- Prepare Project updates
- Conduct progress meetings
- Prepare CPM schedules
- Review Cost and Manhour reports
- Prepare billing forecast
- Prepare Pay applications
- Obtain payment/performance bonds
Estimating:
- Understanding and ability to complete all tasks of a Senior Project Engineer
- Understand the contract and technical specifications
- Prepare preliminary schedules
- Complete bid on Bid2Win
- Balance the bid items on Bid2Win
- Understand insurance requirements
- Understand Prevailing Wage Projects
- Obtain bid bonds
Qualifications:
- Ideally bilingual English/Spanish
- A bachelors degree and/or equivalent 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area is required
- Knowledge of design concepts and construction procedures
- Emphasis in underground utility construction and general knowledge in civil engineering construction
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge of estimating software such as Bid2Win or similar
- Has or is willing to obtain OSHA-30 and/or other necessary industry training
- A team player, ready and willing to take on whatever challenge is offered
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
- 1-3 years experience in project management role
- A strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Possess strong communication and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment, with the aptitude to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Analytical and detail oriented
- Must be able to work flexible hours and locations throughout the Metro area
- Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
- Will interact with people frequently during a shift/workday
- Will lift, push, or pull objects on an occasional basis up to 50 pounds
- Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
- May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
- May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to: steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
