Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Catheterization Lab team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in nursing practices, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care during catheterization procedures. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of care are met.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for catheterization procedures, ensuring they are informed and comfortable.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition throughout the procedure.
- Administer medications as prescribed and manage acute pain effectively.
- Assist physicians during catheterization procedures, providing support and maintaining sterile environments.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records, utilizing systems such as Athenahealth.
- Conduct post-procedure assessments and provide necessary follow-up care instructions to patients.
- Educate patients and their families on home care practices and senior care considerations post-procedure.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health standards and safety protocols within the lab environment.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to catheterization procedures.
- Experience with venipuncture techniques is preferred.
- Familiarity with esthetic laser treatment is a plus.
- Previous experience in acute care settings or catheterization labs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
- Ability to ventilate patients effectively when necessary.
