Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role is essential in providing high-quality medical imaging services in a fast-paced environment, such as a Level II Trauma Center.
Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician orders, ensuring high-quality images are obtained.
- Operate and maintain X-ray equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and images captured.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all procedures.
- Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques, including CT, sonography, and mammography.
- Assist in emergency medicine situations within the ER as needed, utilizing knowledge of physiology and medical terminology.
Qualifications
- Certification as an X-ray Technician from an accredited program is required.
- Experience in medical imaging within a Level II Trauma Center is preferred.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine practices is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to radiology and imaging procedures.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and safety protocols in a clinical setting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
