Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Emergency Room team. As part of a Level II Trauma Center, you will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine immediate medical needs and prioritize care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while monitoring patient responses.
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection processing for laboratory testing.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately in medical records.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-hospitalization.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations, utilizing critical thinking skills to stabilize patients.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in an Emergency Room setting preferred; familiarity with Level II Trauma Center operations is a plus.
- Strong skills in patient care, including assessment, discharge planning, and medical documentation.
- Knowledge of ophthalmology or occupational health is advantageous but not required.
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques and specimen collection processing.
