Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this critical role, you will provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery, ensuring a safe and positive experience for both mother and baby. You will work collaboratively with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the health and progress of laboring patients, including fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs.
- Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed, including pain management techniques.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations and physical examinations to assess maternal and fetal well-being.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Facilitate tube feeding for newborns as necessary.
- Document patient care accurately in electronic health records (Epic) to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans for each patient.
- Participate in urgent care situations as needed, providing immediate assistance during emergencies.
- Maintain a sterile environment during delivery procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Current nursing license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in labor and delivery nursing or related fields such as PICU or urgent care is preferred.
- Proficient in pain management techniques relevant to laboring patients.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes for both mothers and infants.
- Experience with mammography is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to engage in travel nursing opportunities if applicable.

Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour
