Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical/Surgical care to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ health status, including physical examinations and medical history.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and best practices.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition, reporting significant findings to the healthcare team promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Cerner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Assist with specialized procedures as needed, including botulinum toxin treatment and laboratory tests.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Experience in Medical/Surgical nursing; additional experience in hospice palliative medicine or emergency medicine is a plus.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 coding is preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems; experience with Cerner is advantageous.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to perform physical examinations effectively.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is beneficial.
- Willingness to engage in travel nursing assignments as needed.
- Knowledge of memory care practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach towards patient care.
