Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical histories.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide ostomy care and assist with cardiac catheterization procedures when required.
- Educate patients and families on health management, including family planning and post-operative care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a teaching hospital setting to enhance patient care quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment plans in compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
- Participate in sterile processing protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Engage in travel nursing opportunities as needed to support various healthcare facilities.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of patient assessment techniques and vital sign monitoring.
- Experience in a medical/surgical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 coding is a plus.
- Ability to perform ostomy care and assist with cardiac catheterization procedures is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
