Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled OB/GYN Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to women throughout their reproductive health journey, including prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient education, advocacy, and support in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric and gynecological patients.
- Assist with routine examinations and procedures, including IV infusion and administering injections.
- Monitor patients' health status during prenatal visits and throughout labor and delivery.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Educate patients on health maintenance, family planning, and post-discharge care.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients post-delivery.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
- Support senior care initiatives by understanding MDS (Minimum Data Set) requirements.
- Utilize knowledge of hospital medicine practices in patient assessments.
- Engage with patients regarding dermal fillers as part of aesthetic consultations when applicable.
- Conduct phlebotomy procedures as needed for lab tests.
Requirements
- Current nursing license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in an OB/GYN setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in IV infusion techniques and experience administering injections.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and hospital medicine practices.
- Knowledge of senior care protocols and MDS documentation is a plus.
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center is advantageous.
- Understanding of workers' compensation law as it pertains to patient care is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Pay: $60.00 - $68.00 per hour
