Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Operating Room team. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery by conducting thorough assessments, including vital signs and medical history.
- Assist in the administration of anesthesia and monitor patients' vital signs throughout the procedure.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to maintain a sterile environment and ensure all instruments are prepared and functioning properly.
- Perform catheterization, IV insertion, and spinal taps as required during surgical procedures.
- Document patient care activities accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
- Provide post-operative care, including monitoring recovery progress and educating patients on post-surgical instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency within the operating room.
Skills
- Proficiency in MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of internal medicine principles as they relate to surgical care.
- Experience in urgent care settings is advantageous for managing pre-operative assessments.
- Ability to perform vital signs monitoring, catheterization, IV insertion, and CT imaging as needed.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and respond appropriately during surgical procedures.
