Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient health, including vital signs and medical history.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform venipuncture and other necessary medical procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options and health management.
- Utilize medical imaging techniques as needed for diagnostic purposes.
- Participate in critical care transport when required, ensuring safe transfer of patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in emergency situations, including performing gastric lavage when necessary.
- Support patients in assisted living environments, promoting their independence and quality of life.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience or training in internal medicine, critical care, or related fields preferred.
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques; additional certifications may be required based on facility needs.
- Familiarity with Level II Trauma Center protocols is an advantage.
- Strong skills in venipuncture and other essential nursing procedures.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Willingness to travel for nursing assignments as needed; travel nursing experience is a plus.
