Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Endoscopy to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Level I Trauma Center and possess a strong background in geriatrics and medication administration. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
Duties
- Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide basic life support as needed and respond promptly to any emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures, potential risks, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of the operating room (OR) for endoscopic procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly.
- Support patients with disabilities or special needs, providing compassionate care tailored to individual requirements.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Experience in endoscopy or related fields preferred.
- Knowledge of sonography is a plus.
- Proficient in medication administration and basic life support techniques.
- Experience working with toddlers and geriatric populations is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
