Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols.
- Utilize Cerner for documentation and tracking of patient data and care plans.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and assist in coding for accurate medical records.
- Provide support in the management of patients with complex health issues, including those requiring ER interventions.
- Phlebotomize patients as needed for laboratory testing and maintain accurate records of samples collected.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and workers compensation law as applicable.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Previous experience in an ICU or similar critical care environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting physical examinations and performing diagnostic evaluations.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Cerner, is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of coding practices related to patient care documentation is beneficial but not required.
