Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients undergoing various medical treatments and surgeries. Duties
- Assess and monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs and overall health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform physical examinations and document findings accurately in medical records.
- Provide care for patients with varying needs, including those requiring dementia care, infant care, or ICU-level attention.
- Assist with procedures such as gastric lavage, spinal taps, and the administration of dermal fillers when applicable.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with team members and documentation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of patient care practices in a Medical/Surgical setting.
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations and understanding medical terminology.
- Experience in handling emergencies within a Level II Trauma Center is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in patient care tasks.
- Compassionate approach towards patient interactions, particularly with vulnerable populations such as infants or those with dementia.
- Strong critical thinking skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions regarding patient care.
