Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery by conducting pre-operative assessments and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Assist in the operating room by providing support to the surgical team, including maintaining sterile fields and handling instruments.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgery, responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.
- Document all medical information accurately, including patient histories, surgical procedures, and post-operative care plans.
- Provide post-operative care to patients, including monitoring recovery and educating patients on aftercare instructions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in surgical nursing.
Skills
- Proficient in infectious disease care protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation.
