Overview
The Monitor Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare team by providing continuous observation of patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs. This position is essential in ensuring patient safety and timely intervention in critical situations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of telemetry and physiology, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Duties

  • Continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment.
  • Identify and report any abnormal findings or changes in patient conditions to the nursing staff promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient data and observations.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of monitoring equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning properly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care plans.
  • Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols while working within clinical settings.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to diagnostic evaluation and cardiac catheterization.

Skills

  • Proficient in telemetry monitoring with a solid understanding of cardiac rhythms.
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures.
  • Experience or knowledge related to radiology is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in both Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $40.45 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
