This role involves ensuring the quality of production across our facility. Reporting to our Quality Assurance Supervisor, this detail-oriented individual conducts repetitive inspections of dimensions, electrical, or mechanical components on the production floor or bench. They perform visual and dimensional checks using various tools such as gauges, rulers, micrometers, and calipers to assess parts, assemblies, or units for compliance with standard designs. While some judgment may be necessary to identify inferior materials or workmanship, they primarily follow prescribed procedures and instructions. This position requires interpreting simple and complex part or assembly drawings and specifications to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Conduct First Article inspections, prepare reports, and communicate findings.
- Document inspection results, complete reports and logs, and input data into the quality database.
- Approve incoming products through visual, tactile, dimensional, and functional tests as per work instructions and part drawings.
- Document non-conforming materials and participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
- Conduct special QA inspections, assembly inspections, or other projects as needed.
- Assist the team in diagnosing product issues.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Support the organization's quality mission by completing related tasks as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of quality inspector experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Internal experience as a Level 2 inspector may also be considered.
- Familiarity with basic mechanical and measuring devices such as meters, torque wrenches, gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access).
- Calibration techniques experience is advantageous but not required.
- Prior exposure to SQCpack and/or DELMIAworks/IQMS is a plus but not mandatory.
- ASQ CQI or CMI Certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
Working Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm
Compensation: $22.00 per hour
