Job Summary:
El Calvario UMC is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Crew Member to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen, which serves 30-60 people twice daily. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cleaning the kitchen, washing dishes, assisting with food preparation, and supporting the Kitchen Manager in daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Kitchen Cleaning:
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• Clean and sanitize countertops, stovetops, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors daily.
• Dishwashing:
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly and thoroughly.
• Ensure all cleaned items are properly dried and stored.
• Food Preparation:
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and portioning meals.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines during all food preparation activities.
• Support to Kitchen Manager:
• Follow instructions from the Kitchen Manager to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Assist with inventory management by organizing and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Help with setting up and breaking down kitchen stations before and after meal services.
• Meal Service:
• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to feed 30-60 people twice daily.
• Ensure timely and efficient meal preparation and service.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
• Report any kitchen equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Kitchen Manager.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work part-time or full-time hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
• Manual dexterity to handle kitchen equipment and tools.
