Job Title: Entry-Level Construction Laborer
Reports To: Superintendent/Foreman/Masons
Shift/Hours: 7 am - 3:30 pm
Classification: Full-Time
Job Purpose:
As a Construction Laborer, your primary responsibility is to support construction operations by performing various physical tasks on-site. You will work under the supervision of skilled tradespeople and contribute to the successful completion and delivery of high-quality construction projects.
Essential Job Functions:
- Site Preparation: Assist in clearing debris, digging trenches, and leveling the ground. Set up and dismantle temporary structures.
- Material Handling: Load and unload construction materials and tools. Distribute materials to the appropriate locations and assist in inventory management.
- Equipment Operation: Operate hand tools, power tools, and small construction equipment under supervision. Follow safety protocols and report any malfunctions.
- Concrete Work: Assist concrete crews in pouring and handle concrete tools under guidance.
- Demolition: Participate in demolition activities and ensure the safe disposal of debris.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other construction workers, subcontractors, and project managers. Communicate effectively to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Clean-Up: Ensure thorough cleanup of the construction site at the end of each workday. Clean tools and equipment after use and store them properly.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and report any issues or potential hazards to the supervisor. Assist in finding solutions to on-site challenges.
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- Physically fit and capable of performing strenuous tasks.
- Knowledge of basic construction techniques and materials.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Understanding of and commitment to safety practices on construction sites.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 90 lbs).
- Stamina to work in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
What We Offer:
$37,440 - $56,160 annually for base rate wage.
Potential for prevailing wage projects that pay more ($62.58) with Wage Base Salary and Fringes.
Our average Laborer makes $68,991 annually, not including fringes.
