What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician, RVT position at El Camino Veterinary Hospital?
The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) will provide clinical support to 7 veterinarians working in a high-volume, fast-paced, growing, small-animal private practice in Atascadero, California.
Primary Responsibilities:
The RVT will function as a skilled and compassionate member of a dynamic team of professionals devoted to delivering the highest level of veterinary care to a diverse client population.
Qualifications and Competencies:
California Licensed Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred
Minimum of 1 Years of experience working in a small-animal veterinary practice
Demonstrated clinical skills including proficiency in: IV catheter placement; gathering and running lab samples; administering injections (IV, IM, and SQ); monitoring anesthesia; digital radiography; dental prophylactic procedures.
Experience operating standard laboratory equipment
Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with clients including: active listening; and the ability to calmly handle sensitive and at times adverse situations
Well-developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors and other staff members
Ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion when responding to inquiries
Excellent written communication skills emphasizing accurate patient medical record documentation
Ability to work independently and exercise judgement about when to seek supervision
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Experience working with exotic animals preferred
Surgical preparation of patients
Ability to work collaboratively as a team member
Work Schedule:
All shifts available. Some weekend availability is a must.
Compensation Package for 35 hour/week:
