POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the department as well as the “administrative” duties expected from being a manager. In addition, the CDI Manager will also perform the same duties as the Clinical Documentation Specialists, including concurrent review of medical records for opportunities to improve physician documentation; coordinating with physicians to assure documentation accurately, ethically, and compliantly reflects, captures, and reports patient severity-of-illness, risk of mortality and resource utilization using accepted coding nosologies and Diagnosis-Related Group methodologies; issuing concurrent physician queries, and interacting with the medical staff and other caregivers in an effort to assure complete and accurate documentation of the patient s clinical picture and the treatment provided; and acting as a liaison between case management, coding professionals and the medical staff regarding appropriate documentation and the query process.

Please note that actual pay will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. - Registered Nurse by the State of California or Foreign Medical Degree
- Five (5) years nursing experience and one year in CDI, UR, Case Management, or inpatient coding experience
- Knowledge of Clinical Documentation Improvement
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) through the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (ACDIS) required;

must obtain within 12 months of becoming eligible to test as a condition of continued employment. (Must work 24 months prior to eligibility
