Job Summary
The El Dorado County Office of Education, a recognized leader in providing high-quality alternative educational programs, is looking for a talented teacher to join our team as a part of our Charter Home Study Academy program. Our instructional format is a hybrid homeschool model. Students come to the school site two days per week for classes and complete work at home with the parent being the home school teacher. Families meet regularly with their supervising teacher who will guide the parents in at-home instruction, assess student progress, and maintain student records.
Fouth-grade class time runs from 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday and Thursday. Teachers provide direct math and science instruction and create math lesson plans for families to complete at home. The class will also fulfill the science requirement for fourth grade. Teachers will also provide supplementary instructional materials for Language Arts and Social Studies to support at-home learning.
Our program is looking for a teacher who can teach in both elementary and middle school environments, support students and families in all subject areas (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies), and prepare and deliver meaningful classroom and at-home experiences that are motivational and academically rigorous. Our students use technology and teachers utilize a web-based Learning Management System (L.M.S.) to create a seamless educational experience experience for students. Class sizes run around 18-22 students.
