Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Chemistry Teacher at El Dorado High School in El Dorado, AR. The chemistry teacher will be responsible for lesson planning, teaching physics, developing curriculum, facilitating communication, and teaching environmental science to students daily.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares for, meets, and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Evaluates student progress on a regular basis and communicates that progress to the students and the parents.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and the Board policy.
- Attends and participates in professional, in-service, and faculty meetings.
- Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Accepts a share of responsibility for extra curricular activities as assigned.
- Provides for his own professional growth through an on-giong program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at instructions of higher learning.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aides and/or lab assistants.
