Job Description
The chemistry teacher will be responsible for lesson planning, teaching physics, developing curriculum, facilitating communication, and teaching environmental science to students daily. This full-time on-site role requires the ability to prepare for and instruct assigned classes, develop a conducive classroom environment, and evaluate student progress regularly.
- Prepares for, meets, and instructs assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment that supports effective learning within the limits of available resources.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Evaluates student progress on a regular basis and communicates that progress to students and parents.
Performance Responsibilities
- Takes all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Attends and participates in professional, in-service, and faculty meetings.
- Collaborates with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assists in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Accepts responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
- Engages in ongoing professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aides and/or lab assistants.
