El Gancho Fitness Swim & Racquet Club is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance/ Housekeeping Supervisor, to oversee our maintenance/ housekeeping department.
25-30 Hours per Week with Growth Opportunity
Starting at $18.00 per Hour DOE
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the daily cleanliness, as well as, the upkeep and repair operations of the facility.
An excellent maintenance supervisor must be reliable and ability to spot the details that make for an exceptional facility. They must have technical skills and general knowledge of various crafts such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing etc. Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks such as scheduling are also essential.
Their primary goal is to ensure that property grounds, building facilities and fitness areas are in excellent, safe and clean conditions at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following.(Other duties may be assigned as needed)
- Perform daily housekeeping and maintenance during the course of open business hours.
- Ongoing inspect of facilities to determine necessary maintenance.
- Communicates regularly with club management regarding the operations of the department.
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules, allocate work and ensure adequate coverage for work projects.
- Hire, supervise and train maintenance / housekeeping staff.
- Coordinate and supervisor the work of tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.) as needed.
- Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.)
- Monitor inventory of materials and equipment. Establish reorder levels.
- Keep preventive maintenance and repair records.
- Purchasing of necessary repair parts.
- Communication with tradesmen, technical support divisions and other necessary outside vendors for the troubleshooting and repair of equipment and facility.
- Coordination of projects as directed by the club management.
- Respond to emergencies and guest complaints.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
- Practice safe working conditions per OSHA guidelines.
- Practice safe chemical handling as prescribed in Material Safety and Data Sheets.
- Maintenance of pools and hot tubs as coordinated with the Certified Pool Operator.
- Follow proper grooming, uniform, and appearance guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies & procedures & brand standards.
- This position is ideal for the person who is outgoing, enjoys a diverse work environment and is interested in learning more about the health club business through cross-training.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role with a team of 4 or more.
- Strong general knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
- Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
- Excellent planning and leadership abilities
- An eye for detail
- Comfortable with computers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma; Degree from a vocational school will be a plus
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, lifting, stooping or carrying of equipment and materials may be required, conditions include outdoors and indoors.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including possible early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Have or willing to get CPR/AED Certification
