BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of an Assistant Principal, patrol and monitor an assigned campus to maintain order and security in a high school or adult school setting; assure student compliance with school and District policies and regulations.
Classification Characteristics:
This is a bargaining unit position.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

- Patrols and monitors campus lunch areas, hallways, walkways, classrooms, restrooms, and parking lots; maintains order and security of campus; escorts students to office for disciplinary action as needed; reports unusual activities or unauthorized persons; orients and directs campus visitors; E
- Enforces school and District rules, regulations, and policies for the safety and security of students, staff, and property according to established procedures; E
- Observes students during passing periods between classes; assures timely return of students to class; E
- Prevents illegal parking and loitering on school grounds; observes and reports automobile break-ins; E
- Escorts students and teachers to classrooms or automobiles as needed; E
- Maintains security of high or adult school buildings, grounds, and facilities; secures restrooms and other areas such as the teacher lounge; turns on alarms and locks school grounds as assigned;
- Maintains positive relationship with the community; responds to neighborhood individuals or businesses calling to report problems;
- Performs related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor and outdoor environment; subject to adverse weather conditions. Position requires hearing, standing for long periods, bending, moderate lifting of 15-44 pounds.
