Restaurant Supervisor
El Palomar is an established family-owned and operated restaurant in Santa Cruz, CA. We are looking for a Restaurant Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing and supervising front of house staff. The supervisor will have an understanding of food and beverage operations, be able to communicate effectively with guests and other team members, and be able to prioritize duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise front of house staff including items related to scheduling, timekeeping, coordinating staff breaks, food preparation, service and cleaning.
- Ensure that all front of the house staff are following health codes and regulations
- Assist with managing inventory control including ordering supplies as well as receiving deliveries from vendors when needed
- Assist with managing food preparation and production with back of house
- Train and oversee new employees on proper food service procedures
- Coordinate with the owner/management to ensure that all restaurant policies are followed
- Maintain a clean and sanitized environment for customers and employees
- Perform other duties as assigned by the owner or manager
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in restaurant management.
- Knowledge of restaurant management software applications (e.g., POS software, scheduling software) is preferred.
- Current certifications including CA Food Handler Manager Card, 2-Hour Supervisor/Manager Sexual Harassment training, Responsible Beverage Server
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
