Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pre-Health student to support the clinical team in delivering high-quality care. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with medical professionals, gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting, and contribute to patient care. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting our patients and medical staff in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of patient care under the guidance of medical professionals.
- Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical histories and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Support clinical staff with patient assessments, including monitoring vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting during procedures.
- Help manage patient flow to ensure timely and efficient clinic operations.
- Maintain patient records and ensure all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in preparing medical equipment and supplies for procedures and exams.
- Observe and learn from healthcare professionals to expand knowledge of pediatric epilepsy and seizures.
- Ensure patient comfort and provide compassionate care throughout their visit.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve patient care and clinic efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; current enrollment in or completion of pre-medical courses or a related field of study is preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen interest in pediatric medicine, particularly epilepsy and neurology.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
