Position Summary
El Paso Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Pediatric Cardiology Medical Director who will lead the division of Pediatric Cardiology, overseeing clinical, educational, and research activities. This role requires providing strategic direction, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, and fostering a collaborative environment for both staff and patients. Additionally, the Pediatric Cardiology Medical Director will mentor junior faculty, advance the department’s academic mission, and represent the division within the hospital and the broader medical community.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care, leadership, and innovation alongside our team of dedicated providers. Although patient care is our primary focus, education and research are also encouraged and supported through our collaboration with Texas Tech University School of Medicine and the Pediatric residency program. Our practice is located in El Paso, TX, providing inpatient and outpatient support for west Texas, Southern New Mexico, and Northern Mexico.
The position encompasses responsibilities in patient care, administration, program development, safety, quality and access for imaging services. This position will work with the leadership of El Paso Children’s Hospital to execute on yearly personal and programmatic goals focused on the fundamentals of extraordinary care: safety, quality, patient experiences, access, and stewardship. Routine patient care will include: Management of acute and intermediate care cardiac patients, inpatient consultation, supervision of advanced practice providers, hospital service, and outpatient clinic.
