Job Summary
Provide a variety of research material and analyses to staff and clients in support of college planning, resource allocation, and decision-making processes. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.
Essential Functions
Collect, extract, and report institutional data found in institutional databases, surveys, state and federal records to meet regulatory, state, federal, and accreditation reporting and public relation needs of the college. Respond to ad hoc requests for information from internal and external entities.
Perform advanced statistical analyses, interpret findings, and manage the analyses of results that aid in data-driven recommendations that yield effective delivery of programs and services at El Paso Community College, support college planning, resource allocation, and decision-making efforts.
Provide data and technical expertise in gathering and reporting data for essential accreditation, national surveys, applications for national grants, and academic program review, among other entities. Maintain and modify a data warehouse.
Evaluate data collection to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy of an extensive range of quantitative and qualitative data on all facets of the college.
Serve as a consultant to other departments of the college regarding use of data and information available through the business intelligence tool and regarding data quality and integrity.
Present data to a variety of audiences inside and outside of the college, and attend conferences regarding institutional research.
Maintain department website to ensure the most up-to-date student-related information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
1. Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
NOTE : A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.
2. Must possess highly effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
3. Experience researching and analyzing data, and compiling reports.
4. Experience planning, organizing, and overseeing research projects.
5. Effective presentation, public speaking, and communication (oral and written) skills.
6. Highly effective interpersonal, organizational, time-management, and planning skills.
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public, and communicate and interact with individuals at all levels of the institution.
8. Experience using a variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation software such as PowerPoint.
9. Experience as a liaison.
10. Experience navigating, organizing, updating, and maintaining a website.
