Job Summary

If so, the Loved Ones Family Time (LOFT) might be the perfect place for you. In this position, you will supervise family time between parents and children who have been removed from their care. As a case aide, your duties include taking objective and detailed notes, having regular contact with caseworkers, and offering parenting tips, as well as stepping in on behalf of the children if needed. This position focuses on maintaining and strengthening the bond between parents and their children in a safe and supervised setting.
Hiring Range: $20.192 - $22.115 Hourly
Anticipated Hiring Rate: $21.240 Hourly
This position has a work schedule of 25 hours per week between Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Scheduled is subject to change.

Provides administrative and related support to the assigned program in the Children, Youth and Family Services Division of the Department of Human Services (DHS). Assists with the coordination and facilitation of services to clients and families.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Supervision Received: Receives intermittent supervision. This classification normally performs the job by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. Regular direction, guidance, and coaching from supervisor is expected. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically.

Duties are performed in an office environment, clients' homes, schools, jails, courts, etc. They may be exposed to hostile family situations and individuals and unsanitary and hazardous conditions. Hybrid remote work environment dependent upon Department discretion and business needs. Reliable transportation is required as you will be utilizing your own registered and insured personal vehicle to transport clients as needed; mileage reimbursement is available upon request. This position may require evening and weekend hours. Local and non-local travel may be required. Occasional lifting of files, supplies, children: exerting 20 lbs. – 50 lbs. occasionally; 10 lbs. – 25 lbs frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly. This is a part-time position regularly working up to 25 hours per week.

- Provides administrative support and coordinates client-related services in support of assigned program.
- Connects clients with community resources, coordinates appointments and meetings with community professionals, and assists clients in developing and implementing support systems.
- Coordinates, oversees, and documents client interactions and contact ensuring appropriate interaction as assigned.
- Attends and testifies in DHS case court hearings based on intervention with clients as needed.
- Arranges and provides transportation for clients to appointments, therapy, school, court hearings, etc. and assists with the purchase of necessary items as needed.
- Participates in meetings and staffings as requested; attends training and workshops.
- Provides support to caseworkers, supervisors, and managers as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.

- Knowledge of casework practices, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to understand and promote Family Centered Practice.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers, clients, other agencies, the public, and the courts. Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to efficiently plan, schedule, and organize.
- Ability to assess situations and make prudent and appropriate decisions; ability to apply conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently complete the necessary paperwork, reports, and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as appropriate.
- Ability to use personal computer software applications such as Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to use standard office equipment to include computer, fax machine, copier, and telephone.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Six months of public contact experience in human services or a related field.
- Substitution for public contact experience may include successful completion of a certificate program and/or college course equivalent to public contact in human services or a related field.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance as stated within El Paso County’s Personnel Policies Manual.
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, including fingerprinting, motor vehicle record check, drug screen, and physical examination.
