STARTING SALARY: $67,400 - $104,00 annually. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Scheduler – TSR Superintendent, promotes the conversion of current asset management system to the new work management system. Will work with Substation, Transmission and P&C to utilize the new work management system to schedule and track work for all the crews. Also, provides technical support and training on emerging technologies.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of hardware, software, programming languages and operating systems related to personal computers, servers, cloud, and the company network.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, construction equipment, materials, crew requirements and construction practices used by El Paso Electric Company.
  • Working knowledge of computer software applications to include MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Ability to use specialized software for gathering data, record keeping and testing of equipment and be able to instruct others in its use.
  • Ability to support the development and implementation of EPE strategic asset management plans and programs, including various combinations of client education service level objectives.
  • Ability to create documentation of developed applications and internal processes/procedures and develop training materials and utilize them to train end-users.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with officers, managers, fellow employees, and the public.
  • Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
  • Ability to quickly acquire new skill sets.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ability to learn current Cascade asset management software. Learn how to update, track and maintain Cascade Database by entering new substations, equipment nameplate information, creating new fields to the existing database, assigning maintenance orders to equipment for reliability/compliance as well as attaching all test reports. Provide Cascade reports for various departments.
  • Schedules EPE Substation, Transmission and P&C crews utilizing incoming work management system. Advises Substation/Transmission/P&C Supervisors of work-load status and availability of resources.
  • Maintain Substation library which includes, but is not limited to: Schematic drawings, equipment files, equipment manuals, and historical files for Transmission, Substation and Relay Engineering staff.
  • Must be able to support the selection and deployment of information technology applications, especially enterprise asset and maintenance management systems (EAMS/CMMS) and complementary technologies (e.g., GIS, CCTV, mobile, business intelligence, condition analytics, and capital project management)
  • Provide first line technical support for field unit laptops or company phones utilizing work related apps.
  • Provide support to Asset Management/Plant Accounting Department with equipment transfers/retirements and usage of correct accounting information for Capital and O & M purchases.
  • Assists with the development of project cost estimates, economic cost benefit, and analysis for project alternatives.
  • Prepares effective reports and presentations addressing complex technical issues to an audience with limited technical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Power Plant, LiveLink, Advanced System for Process Engineering (ASPEN), Transmission Outage Application (TOA), SBS Battery Link Software and EZCT-2000 Software, Power DB Test Data Management Software, Doble - DTA Web, OATI - Web Compliance and SharePoint.
  • Acts as liaison and coordinates system functions with other users or departments.
  • Coordinates training sessions, coaches team members, and coordinates the development of training materials for system users.
  • Monitors budgets and expenses of assigned jobs and ensures accurate reporting.
  • Largely self-directed work is expected to result in the development of new or improved techniques, procedures, and standards for operations or maintenance practices, as well as supporting technology to minimize asset life cycle costs.
  • Valid driver’s license and follows the Company’s Driving Program policy.
  • Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Performs other related tasks that are not included but are within the context of the duties defined.

Work Environment

  • The incumbents in this classification are subject to inside environmental conditions
  • Available to work irregular hours and/or on a twenty-four (24) hour basis.
  • May work non-standard hours.
  • May require travel to Company work sites.
  • May require out-of-town travel.
