Schedule : Monday through Friday
JOB PURPOSE : The Healthcare Financial Intern is responsible for providing entry-level business analysis duties and support of limited complexity for the Business Analytics Department and its varied operations. Assisting with or completing department tasks and duties or assignments follow well-established procedures and require minimal judgment in their execution. The Healthcare Financial Intern in this position works with direct supervision and review, and any work problems involving departures from standard policies, interpretations, or procedures are presented to the supervisor for direction or resolution.
Essential Job Functions
- Financial Reporting :
- Assist the Business Analytics team in entry-level preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial results for internal business partners. Facilitate corrections as necessary through collaboration with business partners and the accounting team.
- Financial Analysis
- Assist in the entry-level analysis of revenue, spending, and data integrity to provide internal business partners with an understanding of their financial performance, productivity, spending patterns and cost drivers.
- Budget Monitoring :
- Assist with monitoring actual revenue and expenses against budgeted amounts, identify, research, and explain discrepancies and variances.
- Financial Modeling :
- Assist the Business Analytics team with established department models to predict future financial performance based on historical data and assumptions.
- Assigned Projects :
- Assist with assigned projects; perform and / or complete entry-level analytical and financial tasks, and assignments supporting Business Analytics operations within established time frames; meeting established rates of performance for the quality and quantity of work for the position; demonstrating a level of quality, efficiency, and accuracy in the employee’s job performance that ensures the highest standards of excellence.
- Maintains at all times employee and / or patient confidentiality by controlling the environment and information being disclosed to authorized individuals ensuring compliance with all HIPAA and corporate compliance standards, as well as accepted human resources confidentiality standards.
- Understands and complies with all organizational Code of Conduct standards, Policies and Procedures, and Service Excellence (AIDET) requirements with all patients, visitors, employees, and internal / external clients or representatives.
- Demonstrates at all times a professional attitude and acceptable job performance for all duties, tasks, responsibilities, and assignments for this position at the assigned location and / or duty assignment that supports the operational needs of El Rio Community Health Center and as assigned by organizational leadership.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this position.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.
