Role Summary
We are looking for somebody to help set up and create an environment and build a team. The essential function of the Housekeeping Supervisor is to be an effective leader within the Housekeeping Department reporting to the Director of Housekeeping. Responsibilities include maintenance of the property’s interior and exterior facilities to the highest standard of cleanliness, room inspections, direct oversight of Room Attendants, Houseperson, and Public Area Attendants.
Principle duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist in managing aspects of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring all service standards are followed and guest expectations are exceeded.
- Assign daily tasks to staff within the Housekeeping Department, including room credits, general maintenance tasks, public area cleaning and maintenance.
- Perform guest room inspections.
- Coordinate the Hotel's laundry operations with outside vendor, additionally the oversight of maintenance, inventory, and purchase of guestroom linens/bedding.
- Manage the departmental budget and payroll.
- Maintain communication with all departments to ensure all guest concerns are addressed and rectified quickly, and the highest level of service is delivered at all times.
- Maintain inventory pars.
- Ensure both you and your team are always current with mandatory trainings.
- Monitor and develop employee performance to include, but not limited to, providing training, supervision, scheduling, evaluations, coaching and counseling, and disciplinary action.
- Additional duties as assigned by Housekeeping Management.
- Rooms division operations, including Hotel PMS systems, housekeeping credit assignment, and guest ticketing. Knowledge of Opera Cloud and Alice a plus.
- Pool facility operations as related to housekeeping
- Handling of chemicals and cleaning supplies safely
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support their competencies therein.
- Demonstrates knowledge of job-related processes and systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years previous housekeeping leadership experience required. Prior experience in a full-service luxury or boutique environment required.
- Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal. Conversational abilities in other languages helpful.
- Must possess a professional presentation.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
Physical Qualifications
1. Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.
2. Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.
3. Availability to stand for long periods of time.
4. Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally.
5. Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.
6. Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
