Role Summary
We are looking for somebody to help set up and create an environment and build a team. The essential function of the Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for providing luxury housekeeping services to all guest rooms, property’s interior and exterior facilities reporting to housekeeping management team.
Principle duties and responsibilities include:
The Room Attendant reports directly to the Director of Housekeeping and is responsible for providing luxury housekeeping services to all guest rooms, according to procedures established by Hotel El Roblar.
- Clean assigned rooms according to departmental standards, ensuring the highest possible degree of cleanliness.
- Restock and place guest amenities, bath amenities, facial and toilet tissue, literature and other collateral. Ensure adequate supply for arriving guests.
- Ensure proper setting, placement and working order of clock, TV, thermostat, light and other fixtures.
- Report any maintenance issues promptly in accordance with departmental and hotel standards.
- Inspect all door and window locks to ensure they are in working order. Alert management to any unsecured or unsafe situation for the safety of guests and employees.
- Report any unusual situations such as exceptionally dirty rooms, missing items or room status discrepancies (clean, dirty, vacant, occupied).
- Maintain and restock work supplies each day.
- Inspect linen before placing it in rooms and return substandard items to the Housekeeping department.
- Responsible for proper administration of key control for issued keys and keys left by guests in rooms.
- Adhere to lost and found procedure, ensuring the proper retrieval and placement of items found upon a guest’s departure.
- Maintain respect for guest confidentiality and personal items.
- Engage each guest with a smile and appropriate greeting, using the guest’s name whenever appropriate. Graciously accommodate guest requests.
- Demonstrate and uphold Hotel El Roblar Standards at all times.
- Work in accordance with hotel and departmental safety standards.
- Participate in and support hotel and company efforts towards sustainability and environmental initiatives as part of the conservation program.
- Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
Required Qualifications
- One year’s experience in hotel housekeeping or similar position.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
- One year’s experience in hotel housekeeping or similar position.
- Ability to speak in English with guests, co-workers and managers.
- Ability to read labels, instructions and checklists.
- Able to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.

Physical Qualifications
1. Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.
2. Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.
3. Availability to stand for long periods of time.
4. Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally.
5. Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.
6. Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
