Store Directors are responsible for the complete operation of designated areas. They work with corporate management, departmental heads, associates, and vendors in driving sales and ensuring high levels of customer service. Store Directors act as role models of professionalism, ethical behavior, and effective decision-making at all times. The Store Director is responsible for the proper operation of all departments within the grocery store. They focus on their employees and solve complex problems. This person coordinates the work of employees to achieve satisfactory operating results, which comply with company procedures and policies.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES :
The Store Director is accountable for :
Store Operations
Supervising merchandising plans and promotions within the store, which are established by managementControlling the store’s operating budgetEnforcing established programs, which comply with city codes, health regulations, weights and measure regulations and ensuring standards in all departments are being metControlling labor costs for all departments in the store and guiding departmental managers along the processThoroughly understanding all front end and closing proceduresResponsible for store supervision, including oversight of all department management teams : setting accountabilities, aligning team, achieving execution and providing feedbackWorks closely with Director of Operations in implementing corporate and merchandising strategies; handling store facilities management, ensuring quality control, budget, and overall profit and loss; coaching and assisting department managers and offering advice on all aspects of store operationsSales / Customer Service
Maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers and employeesProactive in preventing and resolving customer service situationsDeveloping methods that help build customer loyalty and expand customer baseEmployee Development
Building and maintaining a positive working relationship with employees and peersExecuting and communicating company procedures and policies in a manner consistent with Bodega Latina Corporation’s missionMotivating and inspiring team in reaching high performance and in providing friendly customer serviceManaging the development and performance of the store’s employeesJOB QUALIFICATIONS : Education :
High School Diploma, Associates Degree or better preferredCombined experience / education as substitute for minimum educationExperience :
5-7 years in grocery industry with direct store operations experiencePreferred Field of Expertise
Supervisory and operational experience in similar industrySkills Assessment / Evaluation
Communication – written and oral skills (Bilingual English / Spanish)Computer (word processing, spreadsheet, email)Interpretation of policies / analyses / trends / etcKnowledge of applicable laws / policies / principles / etc.Organization and PlanningProblem identification and resolutionScheduling and staff developmentJob Type : Full-time
