Your Role :
The Advisor, Industry and Consumer Communications
The Advisor, Industry and Consumer Communications is responsible for protecting and strengthening Elanco's corporate reputation as a leader and changemaker in animal health, including livestock sustainability. This role will have the unique opportunity to build acceptance and demand for some of the most exciting innovations changing the landscape of today's food production. The role will work across both livestock and food industry stakeholders building coalitions in support of innovations. The role is responsible for leading proactive consumer acceptance campaigns, explaining the significance of on-farm practices to support consumer demand for more sustainable food products, as well as issues response efforts, working collaboratively with internal and external partners to build trust in modern livestock production. This position works to identify unique opportunities for collaboration and develop compelling communications content that is rooted in science but delivered in a consumer-friendly tone. The role is responsible for supporting strategy and leading execution of livestock sustainability communications program, meeting our customers and stakeholders where they live, work and play.
Your Responsibilities : Develop and implement communications narratives and campaigns for food and livestock industries, aligning with business objectives and coordinating with cross-functional teams like Marketing and Global Corporate Communications.Create and manage integrated communication strategies, ensuring fluid project plans and swift resolution of issues to optimize opportunities.Proactively assess vulnerabilities, keeping content and talking points updated regularly and leading the response process to address issues effectively.Position the digital team as thought leaders in social listening, using this expertise as a strategic differentiator for internal and external communications.Identify and develop leaders to effectively deliver content, offering coaching and guidance to ensure impactful messaging.Identify key external engagement opportunities (keynotes, events, media) where Elanco leaders can share content to enhance visibility and influence.Provide spokesperson training and counsel, preparing internal and third-party experts to deliver key messages effectively in public forums and media.What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications) :
Education : Bachelor's DegreeExperience : A minimum of 8 years of experience in consumer food, industry or PR agency environment experienceProven experience in developing and executing successful public relations campaigns , including integrated communications strategies to drive brand awareness and visibility.Strong writing and editing skills , with expertise in AP Style and proficiency in Microsoft Office for managing projects and creating content.Eligible for U.S. employment , with no need for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B or TN status).What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications) :
Experience in agriculture, animal, or food industry communications with strong skills in written, social, verbal, and presentation communication.Proven ability to drive engagement and results, creating change and collaborating effectively with teams to enhance communication strategies.Strategic thinker, able to translate broad strategies into actionable plans and manage multiple projects with clear priority-setting.Skilled at networking and influencing leaders at all levels, confidently providing recommendations and feedback across the organization.Adaptable and proactive self-starter, able to perform independently with proven learning agility and the ability to shift priorities as needed.Additional Information :
