South Florida based Engineering Firm has an opening for a full-time position in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The firm is looking for a responsible utility / survey Technician to perform a variety of tasks.
Job Description: The Survey / Utility Technician shall be responsible for identifying and documenting with the GPS unit, the underground and above ground location of existing utilities and infrastructure per the requests from his supervisor, Vendor Project Supervisor, or FDOT Project Manager or designee. Utilities to be documented include, but are not limited to, tracing cables, Fiber optical cables, power cables, duct bank, pull boxes, ITS Cabinets and equipment. This person will be required to be able to use or learn how to use a Trimble GPS unit, read existing construction plans and documents, document any new sites, or changes in existing locations.
Whenever available, the Survey / Utility Technician shall assist the ITS Maintenance technician and electrician in performing the installation, maintenance, and repair of ITS devices. The Survey / Utility Technician shall document and photograph the work as needed.
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
Required Skills:
- Basic computer and networking skills
- CDL B driving license preferred
