JOB DESCRIPTION
Start Date - July 2025
Qualifications:
- Georgia professional certification in Audio/Video Technology and Film or Mass Communication preferred or two years practical experience in the audio, video, technology and film pathway area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the AVFT state curriculum as it pertains to our local CTAE Department
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, administrators, and other community stakeholders to provide the most relevant activities and support for our district and community.
- Understanding and knowledge of the integration of technology, specifically Google classroom and the ADOBE software program.
- Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning
- Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents, and others
- Ability to assess levels of student achievement effectively and analyze test data to inform instruction.
- Ability to maintain student and classroom management and supervision to provide a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning
- Maintain inventory of all equipment and items purchased for the classroom and CTAE projects.
Expectations of AVFT and CTAE Program of Work
- Ability to plan and implement activities and projects for students and work within community partnerships for possible placement and opportunities and relevant activities.
- Serve as a Community Connection for the AVFT and Co-Partner of the Blue Devil News Network program within the CTAE Department and responsibilities around those partnerships with events such as filming and broadcasting, editing footage, coordinating students, radio and podcast capabilities
- Recruit, supervise and work closely with WBL Student Interns in completing filming and programming tasks throughout the school, district, and community in projects including Matrix Board creations and programming, District event broadcasting, and other video creations with assistance from the Digital Design Instructor and CTAE Director
- Provide opportunities for students for competitions with SkillsUSA, as well as supervise and promote state activities for the students.
- CTAE AVFT Studio upkeep and coordination through inventories, identifying equipment problems and other maintenance issues through the CTAE Director.
- Participate in collaborative meetings with the CTAE Director and members of the department, specifically the Digital Design Instructor
- Complete monthly time sheets and submit to CTAE Director.

Principal, CTAE Director, and/or other authorized administrators
Job Goal:
To provide an educational atmosphere in which students will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth, and maturation in accordance with system philosophy, goals, and objectives.
Supervises:
Paraprofessionals if assigned to teacher
Position Status: Certified
Terms of Employment:
- Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system’s approved salary formula. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system. Possible Extended time hours for AVFT responsibilities outside of contract times.
Evaluation:
- Performance of this job will be evaluated by the CTAE Director and Principal.
Job Description: PK-12 Teacher
Position Summary: A PK-12 teacher is responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters the academic, emotional, and social development of students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Teachers develop and implement lesson plans that adhere to curriculum standards, assess student progress, and adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of all learners. The role involves collaboration with colleagues, communication with parents or guardians, and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Planning and Instruction:
- Design and deliver engaging lessons that align with district, state, and federal curriculum standards.
- Use a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, discussions, hands-on activities, and technology, to accommodate different learning styles.
- Integrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity into lessons to enhance student learning.
- Classroom Management:

- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with other teachers, administrators, and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, achievements, and any concerns.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred for upper-grade levels).
- State teaching certification or licensure for the relevant grade level(s).
- Strong knowledge of subject matter and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with technology and online learning platforms.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive education strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
- Ability to regularly, reliably, and consistently be present in person at work
Work Environment: Teachers work primarily in classroom settings within a school. The role may require additional hours for planning, grading, and participating in school-related events or activities.
