Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Teacher for Kindergarten through 2nd grade. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners through hands-on, inquiry-based instruction that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This role involves designing and implementing engaging, age-appropriate STEAM lessons while integrating interdisciplinary learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum & Instruction:

  • Develop and implement engaging, hands-on STEAM lessons that align with state and national standards.
  • Incorporate inquiry-based learning, project-based learning (PBL), and design thinking strategies.
  • Utilize age-appropriate technology and tools (e.g., robotics, coding platforms, 3D printing, maker spaces).
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and experimentation.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement:

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe to explore and take risks.
  • Use classroom management strategies that promote student engagement, collaboration, and self-regulation.
  • Encourage a growth mindset and perseverance in problem-solving activities.

Collaboration & Professional Development:

  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to integrate STEAM concepts across subjects.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and STEAM initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with STEAM education trends.
  • Maintain and organize STEAM-related materials, tools, and technology.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, STEM/STEAM Education, or a related field.
  • Experience: Teaching experience in early childhood or elementary education, preferably with a focus on STEAM.
  • Certifications: State teaching certification required (or eligibility for certification).
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of STEAM concepts and best practices in early education.
    • Ability to integrate technology and hands-on learning into instruction.
    • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    • Creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm for fostering young learners’ curiosity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with coding, robotics, or makerspace activities.
  • Training in Project-Based Learning (PBL) or Design Thinking.
  • Familiarity with early childhood development and learning styles.

Job Description: ALL  PK-12 Teacher

Position Summary: A PK-12 teacher is responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters the academic, emotional, and social development of students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Teachers develop and implement lesson plans that adhere to curriculum standards, assess student progress, and adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of all learners. The role involves collaboration with colleagues, communication with parents or guardians, and ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Planning and Instruction:
    • Design and deliver engaging lessons that align with district, state, and federal curriculum standards.
    • Use a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, discussions, hands-on activities, and technology, to accommodate different learning styles.
    • Integrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity into lessons to enhance student learning.
  2. Classroom Management:
    • Establish and maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
    • Implement effective classroom management techniques to encourage respect, discipline, and engagement.
    • Address and resolve any behavioral issues following school policies.
    • Ability to effectively supervise students
  3. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
    • Develop assessments (quizzes, tests, projects, etc.) to measure students' understanding and progress.
    • Regularly evaluate and report student performance, identifying areas where additional support or enrichment may be needed.
    • Use data from assessments to inform instructional adjustments and differentiated instruction.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work with other teachers, administrators, and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
    • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, achievements, and any concerns.
    • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and other collaborative initiatives.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends, technologies, and best practices.
    • Reflect on teaching practices and incorporate new strategies to improve student outcomes.
  6. Student Support and Advocacy:
    • Recognize and address the academic and emotional needs of students.
    • Provide guidance, encouragement, and support to promote student well-being and growth.
    • Refer students to appropriate support services when necessary.
    • Motivating and and inspiring students to their full potential

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred for upper-grade levels).
  • State teaching certification or licensure for the relevant grade level(s).
  • Strong knowledge of subject matter and pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with technology and online learning platforms.
  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive education strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Ability to regularly, reliably, and consistently be present in person at work

Work Environment: Teachers work primarily in classroom settings within a school. The role may require additional hours for planning, grading, and participating in school-related events or activities.

This position is essential in shaping students’ foundational knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm for lifelong learning, preparing them for academic and personal success.
