Job Summary: Elbowoods Memorial Health Center is seeking an HIM Technician to assist with medical records management, including processing record requests, scanning documents into the electronic health record (EHR), and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations. This role supports a fast-paced ambulatory care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and release medical records to patients, healthcare providers, and insurers.
- Verify authorizations and ensure compliance with HIPAA and legal requirements.
- Scan and index medical documents into the EHR system.
- Assist in retrieving and filing medical records.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (Required)
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with EHR systems (Required)
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations (Preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Valid North Dakota driver's license with a clean record (Required)
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- Indian and Veterans Preference applies (Must submit documentation)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
