Job Summary: Elbowoods Memorial Health Center is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to assist patients in the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program on their recovery journey. This role provides mentorship, encouragement, and life skills training based on personal or professional experience in recovery. The Peer Support Specialist will help facilitate talking circles, outreach events, and provide transportation to program meetings and medical appointments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support MAT patients with daily activities and recovery guidance.
- Assist in facilitating talking circles, support groups, and outreach events.
- Provide transportation for patients to program meetings and medical appointments.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA regulations.
- Represent EMHC in a professional and respectful manner.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (Required)
- 6 months of experience in a recovery center or related field (Required)
- Peer Support Specialist Certification or ability to obtain one (Required)
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
- Valid North Dakota driver's license with a clean record (Required)
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- Indian and Veterans Preference applies (Must submit documentation)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
