We have doubled our size since 2020 and need a motivated and experienced MS SQL Programmer to serve our growing employee base. Position Summary

The MS-SQL Developer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing database systems and reporting solutions within the life insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL development, data modeling, and experience with MS reporting tools like SSIS and SSRS.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain MS-SQL databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Create and manage data models to support reporting and analytical needs within the life insurance sector.
  • Develop, test, and deploy ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Create and manage reports and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
  • Optimize SQL queries and database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval.
  • Conduct data analysis and troubleshooting to resolve database issues.
  • Document database designs, ETL processes, and reporting solutions for future reference and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in MS-SQL development, preferably in the life insurance industry.
  • Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and database design principles.
  • Strong database administration experience.
  • Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of SSIS and SSRS for ETL and reporting tasks.
  • Familiarity with life insurance data structures and regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Knowledge of additional database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Understanding of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database).

*Physical demands: Constant use of both hands, arms reaching handling/ grasping/fingering while keyboarding, using phone, calculator, and other office equipment, writing instructions, filing, and performing other administrative duties. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
