Our new Civil Designer Level I is an entry-level role where you work under the supervision of senior engineers and project managers, assist in the designing and drafting of civil engineering projects. The Civil Designer utilizes CAD software to prepare detailed layouts, plans, and drawings for a variety of civil projects, including site development, transportation, and utility infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills and gain valuable experience in the civil engineering field.

    Responsibilities as a Civil Designer Level I include the ability to :

    Assist in the preparation of civil engineering design plans using CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.).

    Create detailed layouts, design drawings, and construction documents for civil projects such as roadways, drainage systems, water, and sewer infrastructure, and site grading.

    Work with project managers and engineers to ensure that designs comply with local codes, industry standards, and client requirements.

    Support field survey teams by gathering data and integrating it into the design process.

    Perform basic calculations for earthwork volumes, stormwater management, and utility layouts under guidance from senior staff.

    Assist in the preparation of reports, quantity estimates, and project documentation.

    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and electrical engineers.

    Provide technical support during the review of design plans and construction phases.

    Ensure project drawings and documents are maintained, updated, and filed appropriately.

    Qualifications for this position must consist of :

    Associates or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.

    Proficiency in CAD software, especially AutoCAD and Civil 3D (experience with MicroStation is a plus).

    Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles, such as grading, drainage, and utility design.

    Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

    Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    Willingness to learn and take direction from senior engineers and project managers.

    Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

    It would be great if you possess :

    Experience with design software such as InfraWorks, StormCAD, or other civil engineering tools.

    Basic understanding of local codes, design standards, and permitting processes.

    Experience with field survey work or knowledge of survey data integration is a plus.
