We are seeking a part-time Community Outreach Coordinator who will embody our values of care, inclusion, and excellence to engage new audiences and strengthen relationships with current supporters. This role is vital to promoting Elder Care’s mission through creative outreach efforts, thoughtful communication strategies, and impactful community engagement initiatives. This role directly supports the Director of Development with all campaigns associated with fundraising and community engagement.
The Community Outreach Coordinator will develop and implement diverse outreach efforts, including social media campaigns, newsletters, press releases, community events, and donor engagement strategies. This individual will collaborate across teams to craft engaging, mission-driven content and ensure consistent communications while fostering meaningful relationships with donors and stakeholders. Additionally, they will focus on donor recognition and stewardship to enhance Elder Care’s ability to fulfill its mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media and Communications
- Plan and execute strategic social media campaigns that inform and inspire, leveraging platforms like Facebook and Instagram to share Elder Care’s programs and successes.
- Write and design newsletter articles, press releases, and other communications to share stories of impact and updates on Elder Care’s initiatives.
- Ensure consistent messaging aligned with Elder Care’s mission, vision, and values.
- Donor Engagement and Recognition
- Manage donor recognition programs, ensuring timely and thoughtful acknowledgment of contributions through thank-you letters, events, and personalized communications.
- Work closely with the development team to steward donor relationships, enhancing loyalty and long-term commitment.
- Maintain and update donor information in the database to track contributions, engagement, and recognition efforts accurately.
- Assist in planning and executing donor appreciation events to celebrate and honor the impact of their support.
- Community Engagement and Event Management
- Coordinate and manage events that promote Elder Care services, build community awareness, and foster donor engagement.
- Act as a liaison with local organizations, businesses, and media outlets to promote collaborative opportunities and partnerships.
- Represent Elder Care at community events, fostering relationships with stakeholders, caregivers, and aging adults.
- Strategy and Analytics
- Track and analyze the performance of outreach and donor engagement efforts, adjusting strategies to maximize impact and reach.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to keep Elder Care’s outreach dynamic and relevant.
Skills and Qualifications
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create compelling, mission-driven content.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in donor stewardship, social media management, event planning, or community relations.
- Confidence in analyzing data to measure the success of campaigns and donor engagement efforts.
- Enthusiasm for building relationships and representing Elder Care in the community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in nonprofit work or community-focused roles, particularly in development or donor relations.
- Familiarity with donor management software and tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of social media analytics and email marketing platforms.
- A genuine passion for Elder Care’s mission and an understanding of the needs of aging adults and their families.
