General Responsibilities
As an Industrial Sewing Machine Operator, you need strong communication skills. You’re organized and you work well in a fast-paced environment. You also have an eye for detail and quality. You’ll have a working knowledge of industrial sewing machine equipment or a willingness to take the training necessary to understand and operate the machinery.
Some of the things you’ll be doing
· Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments
· Receive and inspect merchandise, prepare paperwork for the sewing process
· Sew various garments including hemming pant, knits and oxford, shirt sleeves, inserting labels in garments
· Cross train in all functions to include trimming, folding, and repacking
Some of the qualities you possess
· Positive attitude and strong work ethic
· Basic Mathematical skills
· The use of basic hand tools requiring physical dexterity and mobility
· Handle pallets truck for loads exceeding carrying weight
· Bending, squatting, sitting, climbing
· Basic computer skills
· The ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 40 lbs
· Attention to detail
