General Responsibilities
As a Shipping and Receiving Associate you are the last line of defense in achieving the maximal customer satisfaction possible. You will verify that the shipping label or handwritten pick slip number displayed on each carton corresponds to the assigned pick slip. You will also inspect each carton to ensure when the order is received by the customer it arrives in a manner reflecting the high standards set forth by Elder Manufacturing. The primary role of your department is to ensure that each order is palletized properly before being wrapped for shipment.
Some of the things you’ll be doing
· Weigh each box for all orders
· Measure the length, width, and height of the pallets
· Scan each pick slip barcode Verify the pick slip number corresponds to the previously scanned pick slip
· Document any and all damages identified or shortages
· Ensure that the dock is clean and the pit is clean and free of any water and debris
· Conduct a weekly safety inspection on all forklifts according to the checklist provided

· Basic Mathematical skills
· The use of basic hand tools requiring physical dexterity and mobility
· Handle pallets truck for loads exceeding carrying weight
· Bending, squatting, sitting, climbing
· The ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
