Position Overview
Elder Research’s Commercial Business Unit is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Representative (BDR) with a strong background in direct and partner sales and expertise in data and AI/ML processes. The BDR will play a critical role in identifying and qualifying leads, nurturing potential clients, and setting up high-value sales opportunities for our consulting professionals. The preferred candidate should have 3-6 years of sales experience, a demonstrated ability to engage decision-makers, and a strong track record of generating new business opportunities.
The BDR will represent the organization at industry conferences and events, build credibility on social media, and establish new customer partnerships. A strong grasp of marketing, sales development, and cold and warm outreach strategies is essential.

Position Requirements
Direct and Partner Sales
- Drive direct sales and manage channel/partner sales to meet revenue goals.
- Establish new business opportunities through strategic networking and outreach.
- Research and identify potential clients within target industries and initiate outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
- Engage with prospects to assess their needs, business challenges, and fit for our consulting services.
- Generate and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads, ensuring smooth handoff to consulting professionals.
- Assist in scheduling discovery calls, demos, and networking events to connect potential clients with senior team members.
- Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions, track engagement, and update lead statuses within a CRM platform.
- Collaborate with the marketing team and business unit leaders to refine outreach strategies, optimize messaging, and support targeted campaigns.
- Manage sales development strategies, including cold outreach and follow-up with warm leads.
- Attend and represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows.
- Stay up-to-date on market trends, emerging technologies (data, AI, and ML processes), competitor activities, and client challenges
- Work onsite 2-3 days per week, collaborating with internal teams.
- Travel as required to meet with clients and attend events.
- Travel up to 20% per year
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Professional experience or education in data or AI/ML processes
- 3-6 years of experience in sales, business development, or lead generation, preferably in consulting, professional services, or B2B industries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage prospects effectively.
- Strong networking capabilities across platforms like LinkedIn as well as in-person and virtual events.
- Proven ability to conduct research, identify target clients, and generate leads.
- Proficiency with CRM software, sales engagement tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with outbound sales techniques, cold calling, email campaigns, and proposal writing is a plus.
