Job Title: Billing Coordinator
Location: ElderServe Adult Day Health Center
Reports To: Director, Adult Day Health Center
Position Summary:
The Billing Coordinator at ElderServe ADHC is responsible for overseeing and managing all billing functions related to patient care services. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can ensure accurate and timely billing while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the administrative team, the Billing Coordinator must demonstrate strong communication skills, a commitment to teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Billing and Coding: Accurately process and submit claims for reimbursement from insurance companies and other payers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Documentation: Review and maintain patient records to ensure that all necessary documentation is complete and up to date for billing purposes.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services, ensuring that billing is done correctly according to pay guidelines.
- Collaborative Communication: Work closely with medical staff, social workers, families and management to resolve billing issues and answer any billing-related questions. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and insurance providers.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and outstanding accounts through proactive communication and follow-up with payers.
- Team Support: Actively participate in team meetings and assist with office-wide initiatives. Support fellow team members in managing the workload and addressing any challenges.
- Compliance: Ensure all billing processes adhere to federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies.

- Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on billing and revenue cycle performance as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred).
- Previous experience in billing or medical office administration, preferably in a healthcare or adult day services setting.
- Familiarity with insurance policies, coding systems (CPT, ICD-10), and billing software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
