Join Elderwood as a key clinical leader in the role of Assistant Nursing Director (ADON - RN). We are looking for a compassionate professional with outstanding communication abilities and a knack for fostering collaboration within a team.
Position Responsibilities :
- Support the Director of Nursing (DON) in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents through effective staffing and staff development.
- Conduct resident assessments and audits while adhering to all relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Act as Infection Control Preventionist, enhancing the safety and care for our residents.
- Aid in the direction and development of nursing activities, ensuring high-quality nursing services.
- Develop and interpret nursing policies in accordance with state regulations and facility standards.
- Communicate policies to nursing staff and supervise their implementation to uphold the highest care standards.
- This position requires an active RN license.
Key Responsibilities :
Step in for the DON when needed under the direction of the Administrator.Assist in creating the nursing services section of resident discharge plans.Perform administrative tasks, including managing medical documentation and staff evaluations.Recruit, train, and evaluate nursing personnel, maintaining documentation to support all personnel actions.Ensure round-the-clock nursing coverage within the facility.Guarantee compliance with training requirements for nursing assistants and transition nurse aide trainees under licensed supervision.Identify staffing needs and assist the DON in addressing them.Lead initiatives to resolve personnel issues and boost employee motivation.Schedule and delegate work assignments while overseeing the nursing staff's adherence to their responsibilities.Conduct regular rounds to ensure nursing personnel are providing care at acceptable standards and report findings to the DON.Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.Monitor medication administration and treatment schedules for adherence to physician orders.Address any medication errors promptly.Deliver direct nursing care as needed, ensuring residents receive assistance as required.Qualifications :
Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is required.Current and unencumbered RN license is mandatory.Baccalaureate degree is preferred.Knowledge of complex geriatric care, management principles, and organizational structure is advantageous.A physical examination and proof of good health must be present upon hiring.Ability to work independently or collaboratively, with effective communication skills.A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required if driving is a job function.A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a relevant healthcare environment is expected.Previous experience in long-term care is preferred.Familiarity with computer systems is a plus.This role involves regular interaction with a diverse group of individuals; proficiency in English at an intermediate level is necessary.EOE Statement :
