About the Role :
Elderwood is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as a Care Supervisor within our clinical team. This position is ideal for both seasoned LPNs wishing to work with lower acuity patients and new graduates aiming to build their nursing confidence in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities :
- Administer and assist with medications for assigned residents and oversee those participating in the self-medication program.
- Supervise and monitor the personal care delivered by Resident Assistants.
- Provide direct care support to residents, assisting Resident Assistants as needed.
- Communicate any changes in residents’ conditions and needs to the Director of Nursing.
- Adhere to the individualized care plan for each resident.
- Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of controlled substances, ensuring proper medication protocols are followed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Case Notes and Medication Administration Records.
- Contribute to problem-solving around staffing, supplies, and resident care during each shift.
- Uphold resident care standards and respect residents' rights and preferences in care.
- Handle lost and found articles appropriately, notifying the Director of Nursing as necessary.
- Ensure all residents are treated with dignity and kindness at all times.
